I’ve been there. I’ve had moments where I thought that trusting God was far more difficult than trying to live life on my own.

It just seems that God often leads us into the wilderness before he refreshes us in the valley.

Paul begged God to take away a “messenger of Satan” — this thorn in the flesh — but God repeatedly answered with a “no”. The third time Paul prayed to God, God reminded Paul that God’s grace was sufficient for anything Paul was going to face.

And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love,18may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ,19and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. 20Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

 

Don’t just go to the next page. Make this into a prayer, your prayer. (i.e. "Heavenly Father, I pray that out of your incredible, vast riches that you might strengthen my family with your power. Jesus, teach me to embrace the depth of Your love . . .")

If you pay close attention, you can hear Jesus’ love, passion, and challenge to this woman. Stop when you get to the part where Jesus says, "Believe Me". Ponder the significance of those words and the implication of those words for our life.
