It’s not often we use this site to share stories with you, but today is one of those rare exceptions.  As we continue to celebrate the great gift of Jesus Christ and anticipate the coming of a new year (I hope you as excited about the Tenth Dot’s upcoming New Year’s campaign as we are!  MUCH more news to come on that, stay tuned!), I want to share a great miracle with you that my son and I personally experienced this Christmas.

God introduced Christmas in Genesis 3, to Adam & Eve and then solidified the certainty of it in Genesis 12 & 15 to Abraham.  Now in Genesis 49, we see the faith of Abraham’s grandson Jacob, as he promises the Christmas blessing to Judah, Abraham’s great grandson.

God’s first promise of a coming Savior is found in Genesis 3.  The second major promise comes in Genesis 12.  Look at these amazing words:

And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing.

It’s not too often we think about Christmas in the book of Genesis, but that’s where the Christmas story starts.  So for the next few days, let’s look at the start of God’s amazing Christmas story from the book of beginnings.

As Christmas approaches and anxiety arises it seems like this might be an appropriate verse for us to ponder today.

Ephesians 4:29

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. 

 John 1:46, "Nazareth!  Can anything good come from there?"

John 7:52, "Are you from Galilee, too?  Look into it, and you will find that a prophet does not come out of Galilee."
