To Run At It!

I know that sounds crazy but stick with me for a second. If you know you are going to be in a situation that is difficult instead of fleeing the temptation you need to run at it. Let me give you an example. Let’s say you were going to a party. You’ve been struggling with drinking too much at parties. Instead of just hoping there isn’t going to be alcohol or hoping that you won’t struggle this time, you run at the struggle by calling friends in Christ to keep you accountable. You tell them to call you or text you and ask how you are doing. Before you leave you tell someone to protect myself from falling into temptation I am going to always have a Coke in my hand or near by . . . so the key word becomes "Hey man where’s your Coke."  That’s running at temptation and extinguishing the flaming arrows before they get to you.

Whatever works for you but have a PLAN!

Ephesians 6:16-18

In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. ¹⁷ Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

 ¹⁸ Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.
