If you don’t rest you will burn out in every area of your life.  

Psalm 46:1-3 

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. 

Why is it so difficult to slow down and rest? Why is it so hard to slow down and let God recharge us?

Psalm 62:1-2 

My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.

Without rest you will become the things that you despise. Rest is the essential ingredient that gives you the strength, wisdom and inspiration you need to become the person God’s designed you to be. 

Isaiah 40:28-31

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. 

Meditate on this.

Exodus 33:14

My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.
