Ok so I’m a pastor who preaches this stuff. I firmly in my head am convinced that God wants to bless us, that He will give us the desires of our hearts. That He will give us whatever we ask if we believe. And i would tell someone it in a heart beat!! So why in my own life is it still hard to fully step out in it?
Anyone else like me?
Jesus help me to fully trust You as I fully submit to You, and help me in my unbelief!
John, I’m a pastor too and my wife and I had the same conversation last night thinking about this post. In once sense it is so easy to point others to the answers and in our ministries while not taking the time to experience them ourselves in our lives. My wife and I have been less than faithful and not living in belief about God’s work in a couple of aspects of our life and family — these thoughts have been convicting. Let’s hold each other up in prayer in this matter as we both step out fully and see what God’s amazing grace will do when manifested in our faith!

Well said Joe. =)
Lord, help me to live fully in each moment that you give me. I want to work at business, parenting, marriage, driving the kids to school, even laundry with ALL MY HEART. I want to work for YOU like it all depends on me and ask YOU like it all depends on YOU. YOU are worthy of having all of me. Thank you for Your Word and for the heart to really hear it today.
My God, I stand in amazement at who You are and Your love for me! I know that if You were coming to my house today in the flesh it would be spotless, up until the moment You rang my doorbell I would be working hard to make sure You were pleased with what You saw. I pray Lord that I work just as hard at making my heart, mind, body, and soul “clean” and pleasing to You! I know You are ready to use my life to build Your kingdom and I have felt for sometime the stirring of “something” coming. I am beginning to understand that You have been preparing me for action and that NOW is the time. I am going to commit everything to You, not just for today or tomorrow or until that “new car smell” wears out, but with every moment I have, living each moment one at a time! I believe with all my heart that You have created me to love and care for Your kids. You have gifted me with amazing ideas and talents that can build Your kingdom and reach Your children and I want to use them to glorify You! Lord do the impossible in my life and through my life. Now is the time and today is the day I commit to following through. I leave my old ways behind and take up Your ways in all I do and all I commit to!
Amen

Lord, thank you for this ministry. Thank you for the entries that have been posted before this one.
Thank you anazgirl, Traci, Joe, and John. Your willingness to share has bless me today. I feel so much the same that all of you. I am not a pastor; I am a father, husband, child of God, musician, employee of a company I feel like an alien at, and I am involved in a few different ministries.
Lord, you know the desires of my heart, you also know the fears I have. I know the desires in me you have instilled. I have sought council about them and have received feedback that leads me to believe it is all by You and from You. Lord, please bless “I’ve Died Daily” and “How are you doing….REALLY?”
I want to be a better husband and father; You have given me this desire and now I am finally starting to be mature enough to recognize the tools you have for me to do this.
I want to evangelize and I feel that you made “I’ve Died Daily” for those purposes.
I want to encourage my brothers in Christ and I feel that is why you had me start “How are you doing….REALLY?”
Father God, I commit these to you anew. Help me fulfill Your will in my life. Please Lord, bless me with the opportunity to reach the world with “I’ve Died Daily” so that I can then minister to the world with “How are you doing… REALLY?” I believe you when you say you make the impossible, possible and I trust that You will work in my life in far greater ways than I will EVER be prepared for!
I commit my life to Your hands, I commit my spirit to Yours, and I commit my will to Yours.
In Jesus name! Amen!
P.S. Any MEN that would like to be a part of the e-mail ministry I do, or if you want more information, please e-mail me at chelton@gmail.com. Love in Christ!

We also have to be aware that when the scripture says that God will give us all that we ask for when we ask it in His name, that it doesn’t mean just to pray “Lord I want this, in your name”. We need to be living and walking in His will and then when we have the Holy Spoirit dwelling within us, we will surely ask for the things of His will.

I am amazed at thinking about the amount of driving I do in a day. I spend so much time in a car, and yet find that I in no way glorify God in my driving. God, help me to take this simple act…this simple task I am required to do daily and find a way to glorify you. Help me to be kind, considerate, and slow to anger.

Wow, this is powerful stuff; in fact, I’m not sure if it’s all “sunk in” quite yet. This is life-changing, life-empowering, life-giving! LORD, please open my mind and heart to Your Word. Please motivate me, convict me, and mold me so that I cannot let go or ever deny what You are doing – so that I may truly join You in Your work, rather than just sitting on the sideline with half-hearted commitments. What does it truly mean to commit EVERYTHING I do to you?
Everything I do…
I am a student. I am a daughter and a sister. I am a friend.
I do my school work. I am in leadership positions at school. I am a member of the youth group.
I ride the bus. I interact with people at school.
I keep up friendships over the internet.
I am a member of the worship team. I help out in some children’s ministry at church. I talk with people there.
I am applying for colleges and scholarships. I am trying to figure out what God wants me to do with my life.
I am trying to learn to be sensitive to those around me, see the opportunities God has given me.
I have the opportunity to reach out to an exchange student at my school. I have the opportunity to be part of a book club with people of very different views and beliefs, to state my own and shine my light, to be a friend. I have the opportunity to befriend the junior high girls I’m trying to meet with at school to enourage and mentor. LORD, forgive me for my half-hearted commitment.
I love what Traci said – “I want to work for YOU like it all depends on me and ask YOU like it all depends on YOU.”
Lord, I commit everything I do to You, and I ask You to make my life a worthy sacrifice to You.
