Just in case you didn’t catch that last question at the end of the video let me repeat it: On that day when we rise to be with Him forever will you be successful? Will we awaken to Him saying, “Well done good and faithful servant”? In the end when the curtain of your life closes–will you be successful? CLOSE IN PRAYER: Let these verses shape your prayer. Ask God to teach you how to be successful.

Wow-the passage about “when you help the least of these you helped me” in Matthew 25-I have read this many times, but it finally hit home today. This weekend Arlo and I were hungry and decided to go to Vons (instead of Staters) to get stuff to make sandwiches. On the way in we were approached by a lady & a teen girl and a young boy dressed in worn and dirty clothing (the girl wore pajama bottoms). She asked us for some spare change to try and get something to eat and we both looked at them-Arlo said he didn’t have any cash. I asked them if we could buy them something to eat in the store and their eyes lit up and their heads nodded in excitement and the lady said “Thank you!” We had the good feeling inside as we spent more on the food we bought them then on what we bought ourselves. As we left the store, they were waiting outside & were so thankful for what we gave them (Arlo even emptied his pockets of change for them). We watched them walk away and our hearts ached-but we also felt the love of Christ flowing in us.
Something that I failed to remember is that by doing this simple thing-buying someone a meal, we were doing that for our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. Too many times I walk right past those who ask (and I work for United Way-we take care of the homeless-so that is my focus from 8-5 on M-F. You would think I would stop more often.) If it were Jesus asking you, how much more would you be willing to give Him whatever He asked for. He gave us His life. He is asking us-so we need to remember that.

Lord, help me to be successful in Your sight. You are who sees me always. You know the failures and the successes of my life. Lord, in Your eyes I want success. Help me to seek You always. Let my life be a joy to You.
In Jesus name… Amen!

Lord, I know I have had such a twisted definition of success for my life and my desires. I have had much and done little with it. Forgive me! I know the success my heart now longs for and pants after, to be successful in the eyes and through the eyes of my Daddy! Lord, when You call me to Your side, when the day comes where I am called home, I want to here You say I’m am so proud of you! It wasn’t easy, it wasn’t painless, it wasn’t without sacrifice, but it was worth it.
