but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.What I love about this war is that God wins! I know the ending. I know the Spirit that lives in me is stronger than the flesh. So I set me mind not on earthly, fleshy things but on eternal godly things! Galatians 5:16-26
16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21 envy,4 drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 24 And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

Be alert!
1 Peter 5:8-9 (NIV)
Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
Lord, help me to remain alert and in Your Spirit.

These are a couple verse I have been really encouraged by recently. Romans 12:2-3, 2. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. 3. For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. And also 1 John 2:15-16, 15. Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
Lord, help me today, to not be conformed to this world, and to not love the things that are in this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of my mind that I may prove what is that good, and acceptable and perfect will of God. Give me the strength to say “no” to my flesh, and “yes” to the things of my God!

We’ve got to beat the World. After my class on Missions tonight I was convicted that too many of us don’t realize that it’s not about us. In reality it’s all about glorifying God. God made this world for His Son, but we are messing it up. We’ve got to focus on Him more than the world because it slowly draws you in, trapping you. And beware that even the smallest things of the World, if they are not of Him are sinful. So, give up your sinful acts and desires for this Amazing God. After all, this life is only the warmup before the race. And no one cares how they look while they stretch because if you don’t warmup properly you’ll get hurt. So focus on stretching (God) before the race (Eternity).To God be the Glory because He Loves You!
