An 1870’s slave-trader named John threw himself before God and found God’s grace to be truly sufficient. Despite his wickedness as a man and his near-death experience at sea, when he called for God’s grace, God saved him. As a result, he wrote the song, “Faith’s Review and Expectation”, one of the most famous hymns ever written that talks about God’s amazing grace — sufficient for any/every thing. Because of his change ‘wrought by grace’, John became a preacher and man instrumental in bringing an end to slavery in England. All through God’s grace.
