I need my heart to be broken by the things that break God’s heart and when that happens I need to make my first action one that gets my knees dirty and makes them hurt.  I need to be on my face before God lamenting the pain He must be feeling and interceding for those who have forsaken Him.  I need to fast as I ask God to break hearts and bring His people back into a right fellowship with Him.  In other words, I need to act only after I’ve felt the loss, confessed the sin and pleaded for God’s help.

Will you step up and be Ezra?  Will you stand in the gap for the faithless who have fallen near you?  Will you fast for those who call themselves followers of Christ but don’t live for Him?  On Monday, July 26th I’m going to confess sin, and through fasting I’m going to pray for those brothers and sisters who have fallen away from Christ.  If you’ll join me, will you please write, “Count me in” in the comments?  Let’s together bridge the gap for the fallen saints and plead with God to restore them as He did His children before.  Join me July 26th.
