You were designed to be a fire—spreading the Word, loving God and others, and consumed by God’s life. Unfortunately, life is full of fire quenchers. The more you spread His love, the more you will discover people with a fire hose pointed in your direction. There are always going to be people that are going to throw water on your fire. Here are three suggestions to keep that fire alive.

1. Community. Fellowship. The family of God. We need the body of Christ to keep us focused on Jesus.

2. Carve out time to build the fire. Spending time with God. Go deeper in His Word. Pray, pray and pray.

3. Visit a place that reminds you of God—a camp, a church, a river, a rock under the stars…some place that reminds you of God’s greatness.

What do you do when you feel like the fire of God is going out in your life? Help some brothers and sisters in Christ out by sharing in the comment section what helps you get closer to God in difficult times.

    Writing music.
    Letting out my feelings.
Being alone in silence; alone with God, not saying anything.
