Jesus- since I met you 22 years ago, my world had been turned upside down… and I love it! I can only imagine how life would have been without you. I would probably have sought love from boys/men, instead of you. I would have fought my parents much more often, instead of trying to humble myself and submit to their authority. I would have taken on every battle that my brother threw at me, instead of giving that battle to you. If I hadn’t met you , Jesus, I wouldn’t have married such an amazing man, who strives to be like you, every moment of every day. I would have made so many poor choices, but because I try to follow you, you have blessed me so abundantly. THANK YOU JESUS, FOR TURNING MY WORLD UPSIDE DOWN!

I find myself singing in the car, on my way to or from work, the song “Light the Fire Again.” It is during my commute that I have time to reflect on my day or life in general, and I’ll remember times that God has revealed himself to me, times during my life when all I wanted was to make Jesus smile. I knew I had his love, but I wanted him smile and laugh from sheer joy at my obedience to him. I gradually grew apart from him. Through compromise and doubt, I started missing appointments with him. stopped asking myself, “How will this effect eternity?” I became near sighted. I developed new habits. Bad habits. Poor routines. Every once in a while, the Holy Spirit will stick the smelling salts under my nose and I’ll come out of my stuppor and think, “What the hell just happened?” Take a look at my life and say, “How did I get here?” By the grace of God, he has kept me in the game and reminds me that I am an essential part of his team. I am so thankful that God never leaves me nor forsakes me. Halleluja! Glory in the Highest!
