First of all, if you did not laugh at the shark in the pool, you need to check your pulse. That is sometimes how we experience life. We wake up, pray, worship, and skip to work. Next thing we know, we are swimming with Jaws. I hope your day is not like that. However, if you find your perfect day being interrupted by people or situations that want to bring you down, remember this –
His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.
- 2 Peter 2:3
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
– Ephesians 6:10
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.
- 2 Timothy 1:7

Lord, I lift up to you my brothers and sisters in Christ who are experiencing many “sharks” in their lives right now. Lord, I pray they/ I will surrender to you and that we will look to you each time we think about taking a step. Lord, i pray that you would poor out your blessings on those who remain faithful to you- even when they don’t feel like it. Amen.

Lately I have felt like the sharks just keep on coming-that is, up until the last few days. Now, I feel as if my head is above water and that I can see the blue skies and all that God is doing in my life and the lives of people I love. Thanks God for good friends and for Arlo and just every single blessing I have. Each struggle, each shark makes us stronger in Christ and as long as we look at things the way God has intended, those sharks aren’t so scary after all.

“Shark Attack!” is what we yell when we are caught off guard by the daily challenges of life. I know that when I am not connected to Jesus (when I am not reading His word, praying, meditating on His verses, spending time in His lap) I think everything is a deadly shark attack – even when it’s just a gold fish approaching. Gold fish by design are not scary and do not pose any threat – unless you do not expect it. But when I am in the Word and in Christ, I am aware of the attack of the sharks. I am ready for them. I am prepared. I know that God is bigger than any shark attack. I know that God is the conquerer and in Christ I am victorious. When I am in Christ, the attacks are just reminders that I must depend totally on my Savior.
